Guwahati January 14 2025:In a move that comes as no surprise the famous "Bhogali Jolpaan" has launched a "pitha " making competition.When asked by the new reporters (your old warehorse "Nogen" still remembers what a "pitha" is) ..the Bhogali authorities explained that pitha was a traditional Assamese delicacy that was prepared during Bihu until KFC took over Bihu celebrations in Assam.
The authorities explained its part of their "Know Your Assam" campaign to trace back lost culture of Assam."In the past 20 years KFC,Subway etc have replaced the bhela ghor ,meji ghor etc as the citadel of Bihu.Bihu today is a conglomeration of takeway food and snazzy Bihu CD's !"
A girl when asked by your's truely why dosent she remember what a "Pitha" is ..she replied " I am a modern girl I dont have time to cook laroo pitha.The time must be properly utilised by spending with friends in KFC and clubs like Banajra.Her friends nearby agreed to her.Jaybaan(Jibon originally) a youth of the same age quoted " Yo homie ...pitha ,laru ,garu, bhela is old useless stuff like Mahatma Gandhi.......new is in ...celebrate Magh Bihu with MTV."
Youth icon Jyotin Bora who is brand ambassador for Bhogali Jolpaan's failed campaign expressed hope that like his latest Janmoni 2025 ....Bhogali's venture too would succeed against all cynicism.
